Mikhail MacAran is the Lord of Falconsward. He has the MacAran Gift in full measure and is upset when his son Ruyven leaves to be in Tramontana Tower, so he disowns him, he does not get along with his second son Darren because he is head-blind and possess no laran at all. Since he has one daughter Romilly he wants her to be raised as a lady and wants her married off to Dom Garris of Scathfell. It is later discovered that his youngest son Rael has the MacAran Donas and ends up being the heir to Falconsward.
